What is Tea?
Tea is not as complex as the tea world makes it out to be. Tea, like people, comes in all different shapes, sizes and variations. But at its core, tea is just a plant, Camelia Sinensis. All “tea” comes from the leaves, stems and buds of this plant.

The Tea People "3 Ps of Tea" Model
After working in the tea business for over four years, we still had a hard time understanding all the various methods of planting, processing, and preparing tea. That is why we created our own way of thinking about tea. We call it, "The 3 Ps of Tea!"

We believe tea, in all forms, can be broken down into three distinct buckets: how it is planted (and plucked), how it is processed, and how we prepare. The diagram below illustrates these three P's. Click the images below to learn more about each step in the process.
