Our mission is to make tea approachable.

The tea world is way more fascinating than most people give it credit for, just not very approachable. There are too many teas, too many opinions. We started Tea People because we wanted to share our favorite teas with our friends the only way we knew how, by keeping it simple. Join us in our mission to get everyday people drinking quality tea.

Like our other company, Boba Guys, we do things differently. Instead of a conventional blog, we have a "labs" section full of our own tea adventures and experiments. Instead of just selling teaware, we collaborate with local ceramists, and provide step-by-step guides on how to get the most premium brew out of each cup. Instead of choosing from dozens of different types of teas, we've kept our collection short and sweet by hand-selecting only the most distinct teas for each category. We've also added tea profiles broken down into the need to know, tasting notes, fun facts, and various use cases, so choosing a tea is that much easier.

We hope you'll join us in our mission to get everyday people drinking quality tea.

Happy sipping!

#STEEPLIFE

All tea may come from one plant, but there’s always something more to learn about the tea world. From steeping methods, to new loose leafs and teaware, at Tea People, we’re always striving to share new information that we tea geek out about. That means, we’re into making step-by-step guides about everything from the basics of how to brew fancy new teas and how to brew using seemingly daunting methods, all to make the world tea a little more simplistic.

#BEYONDTHECUP

Part of the modern tea world means expanding the definition of what tea is and what it can be. Our labs section explores everything beyond the cup: cocktails, cold brewing, milk teas, loose leaf as an ingredient, and nitro tea. Tea isn’t just meant to be steeped once in a cup. Instead, we’re into experimenting with other ways in which tea can be used, figuring out fun facts about our sips, and documenting the behind the scenes of our adventures. Innovation beyond the tea cup.

#SOURCED

We take pride in knowing where our teas come from. Our hashtag #sourced follows our trips abroad to find unique teas that are the definition of straight from the source. We’ve kept our selection of teas short and simple, hand curating and blending, the most premium of teas. Tea has a deep complex history that comes from all around the world and we just want to find the best of the best to bring back to you.

We also recognize that water, the other essential thing that you need in order to make tea, is easy to come by for us here in San Francisco, CA. Unfortunately, not everyone is that lucky.

Doing The Right Thing has always been our north star at Boba Guys (our first company) and we're proud to be continuing the tradition. We want to have a positive impact on not just the tea world from day one! That's why we're going beyond the cup and donating a percentage of our profits each year to water.org.
